The University of Portland was founded in 1901 as a small private Roman Catholic university. Today it’s grown to a size of roughly 3,600 students. The university is currently ranked #6 in the west for Regional Universities, according to U.S. News and World Report, the forerunning publication in college and university rankings.

Here are a couple of reasons why…

·       Many students of the University of Portland choose to remain in Portland after they graduate. In fact, the university boasts that more than 13,000 alumni live in the Portland area, a staggering figure considering that the current student body is a modest 3,537 (including undergraduate and graduate students).
·       Additionally, the University of Portland is the largest corporation in North Portland. Students who are interested in business, education, or nursing have plenty of resources available to them considering the economic impact that the school has on the region.
